He is now working as a UI Developer at MySmartPrice. He shares his internship experience below: (1)What are your learnings during the internship? Getting “literally” practical – Lets say, to complete a project, one needs to know 10 things. One can’t complete it having known just 9 things. So I learnt all 10 things to complete it and became knowledgeable to complete tasks of that kind. If one reads a book, one will learn 20 things but they are from scattered topics and they might not be knowing all the 10 things required to do that particular task. Writing clean code, repeatable code, easily collaborate-able code with back end. Stack-overflow – Not that it was taught , but it was essential to get answers as fast as possible because work stops. The JIPMER International School of Public Health (JISPH) took active measures in a remote town located in Kancheepuram district to raise the health status of population. This programme aims to spread its rural outreach initiatives with active support from JIPMER alumni. The programme named ‘Uluru Health Care Project’ will initially focus on a population of about 32,000 spread over 24 villages. The outreach initiative is also part of JIPMER’s philosophy of stepping beyond merely producing graduates of its Masters programme at JISPH. JIPMER also likes to enhance its rural and urban health centres concurrently and explore further outreach with the goal of population wellness in the regions of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi shall adopt the style of Ivy League universities to tap wealthy alumni for donations. Currently, IITD is in the process of recruiting its first development officer whose only mandate will be to liaise with the illustrious alumni for raising funds. At present, alumni donations to their alma mater is abysmally low and the institute is also in the process of finalizing a vision document that will inform alumni exactly where they can help donate in the form of increasing teaching facilities, housing quarters, hostel accommodation and fund scholarships. Alumni of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) from 2002 batch have taken an initiative to set up ‘IITB Innovate’, an alumni-funded project to aid innovative research projects of students submitted at the IITB Incubation Centre. The aim of ‘IITB Innovate’ is to support students who have great ideas but lack funds when building prototypes. An Innovation Fund is being set up to support best innovations in research, technology and product development that would create a lasting impact on the quality of life in India. IITB will use this fund to provide capital to innovative projects and assist in the successful transition of innovative ideas from the early stage to prototyping. Read full article on DNA India
